This is the second release from the band I’ve reviewed – the first was ‘Run My Mind’ (read our review). That single really impressed me – I love loud dirty guitar driven rock, would this as well?
Cutting to the chase early in the review – as I do sometimes – it does, it’s a cool thing. It’s still as guitar driven but it’s more alt-rock than ‘Run My Mind’. The guitars are not as raw and dirty. It’s alt-rock in a kind of loud/louder/quiet/louder sort of way, it has those soaring vocals that alt-rock do. Drums pound, the guitar has a power that you feel inside, and there’s some way cool bass in there.
But crucially it has a tune, you can hum along to it. And it’s damn earwormy, by the second listen the song was just stuck there. And it has something of anthemic feel to it, it’s bloody huge.
It’s one of those songs that sounds better the louder you play it, so turn it up, way up, and get ready to rock out. This is one fab song, go listen.

Hunter-Gatherer are from Pickering, North Yorkshire. They are a three-piece band who blend the frequencies of 1990s Seattle rock with the energy and intensity of modern acts such as Kendrick Lamar.
