Touring with latest release ‘The Field The Forest’ (out in the UK on 12 May 2017), accomplished the rock songwriter hits the UK this April for a run of shows the length and breadth of the country, with co-headliners Doghouse Roses.
Joseph is a prolific songwriter, recording artist and performer with over 20 commercial label releases. Both live and with his recordings, Joseph Parsons has always created his own unique sound. He brings a heart and soul to his songs through energy and emotional honesty, ranging from stories of people caught in hard times to uplifting songs of love and life.
Originally from the musical city of Philadelphia, Joseph Parsons has made his name by consistently delivering exceptional song driven albums alongside a rigorous touring schedule throughout Europe and the US, including last year’s successful tours of the UK and Germany with Doghouse Roses, with whom he tours across the UK again this Spring.
Performing as a duo for these shows, Joseph Parsons will be accompanied by the exceptionally talented guitarist, Freddi Lubitz.
Joseph Parson’s albums are always a journey for the listener and his most recent, ‘The Field The Forest’ (Blue Rose Records), is no exception. ‘The Field The Forest’, is a double EP package that focuses on two distinctive writing styles of Joseph Parsons. ‘The Field’ carries a lighter meditation on redemption & relationships. ‘The Forest’ is an adventurous, heavier rock toned EP that delves into topics of mortality, war and love. Presenting his new material as two bite-sized song cycles is a creative way of facing down the contemporary challenge to the album format. Vinyl junkies in particular will recognise the need at the end of side one, to flip over the disc and immerse into side two.
Joseph Parson’s music weaves elements of rock, folk & soul into his own distinct and authentic sound. Both as a solo artist, and also with his band, his stage shows are dynamic, spirited and deeply moving experiences. Catch the Joseph live at the following UK shows:

The tenth anniversary of the Doghouse Roses was marked with the release of their third studio album, ‘Lost Is Not Losing’ (Yellowroom Music) in November 2016 which has subsequently gained superb reviews across the music press. On the week of its release it was album of the week on BBC Radio Scotland, and the Daily Express declared that it ‘delivers an extraordinary punch’.
Previous years have seen the Doghouse duo establish their reputation through the UK and Central Europe, touring on their own and as members of U.S. based alt-country collective The Willard Grant Conspiracy. Two full length studio albums released in 2008 (How’ve You Been All This Time?) and 2010 (This Broken Key) garnered critical acclaim with R2 magazine stating that the music “mines the best of Scottish and American musical influences”, while Rolling Stone Magazine said “In Iona Macdonald’s singing resides a loveliness that cannot be taught.”.
