This programme featured Andrew Rostron on violin and David Leys on cello, as well as Antony Brannick on piano, who led off with an arrangement of a graceful Bach choral prelude “Mortify us by thy grace”, and a complex Grieg piece with a dance feel, “Humoreske” (Op 6 nr 1).

He was then joined by the other two musicans for a lovely section of Schubert’s piano trio 1 (Op 99, Andante un poco mosso). They followed with Schumann’s fantasy pieces for piano trio (Op 88), a piece with dramatic and varying moods.

The climax of this concert was a beautiful performance of Mendelssohn’s melodious and emotive piano trio in C minor (Op 66).
