Emerging Talent at Bingley Music Live 2015

Bingley Music Live in association with Musicians Centre is giving new, unsigned artists from the Yorkshire Region the chance to compete for a main stage and second stage slot at this year’s festival. Acts from any musical genre are welcome to enter.

Applications will be whittled down to a shortlist of 24 artists/bands that will be drawn into 4 heats. Artists/bands will perform in front of a panel of judges and 1 band will go through from each heat to perform at the final on 22nd May 2015. Four more bands from across the whole of the heats will then be selected to perform at the final. The final eight artists/bands will then be chosen to open up the main and second stages at this year’s festival.

  • Heat 1 – Tuesday 21st April at The Exchange, Keighley
  • Heat 2 – Wed 29th April at The Exchange, Keighley
  • Heat 3 – Tue 5th May at The Exchange, Keighley
  • Heat 4 – Wed 13th May at The Exchange, Keighley

Rebecca Ferguson dates in 2016

Rebecca Ferguson will take her third album, ‘Lady Sings the Blues’, out on the road early next year.

Following her current run at St James’ Theatre in London, the singer will take her interpretation of the Billie Holiday classic around the UK between January 22 and February 18. Tickets are on sale at 9am on March 20.

The pop-punk legends will call at Manchester’s O2 Apollo August 25th and the O2 Academy Brixton August 26th.

Recently returned from a tour of Kenya and Zanzibar, Ricardo Garcia (guitarist and composer) and Flamenco dancer Nanako Aramaki present an evening of both classic and contemporary Flamenco music and dance. Centred in this Andalucian tradition, yet fused with modern sounds including jazz, some Indian and African sounds, Ricardo’s music serves as a diary of his travels: recent trips to East Africa, MTV Unplugged in India, two tours to Jordan, work with rural communities, Kid’s workshops in Kenyan villages, regular appearances at Edinburgh Festival, with Syrian Refugees…. Close your eyes and travel with us….

Ska Special: Neville Staple Band and Skaface: The Grand Venue Clitheroe 9th May

Expect to hear some of Neville’s own material, some arrangements of his very favourite old school Ska numbers, as well as some classic Specials hits in the mix.

This double-bill also features the well-loved Lancashire based ska ensemble Skaface, who did a great job supporting The Selector when they performed at the Grand in 2014.

Chameleons Vox & Special Guests: The Grand Venue Clitheroe 9th June

Now known as Chameleons Vox and still led by Mark Burgess, one of Manchester’s pre-eminent 1980s post-punk bands return to The Grand, Clitheroe, as part of a short UK tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their second album, What Does Anything Mean? Basically.

The album featuring songs such as Intrigue in Tangiers, Perfume Garden, Singing Rule Britannia (While The Walls Close In), One Flesh and In Shreds, was released in 1985. It will be performed in its entirety, along with highlights from the rest of the Chameleons canon.

Chameleons Vox are Mark Burges (vocals / Bass), Neil Dwerryhouse (guitar), Chris Oliver (guitar), Yves Altana (drums).

This gig will feature a support act from 7.45pm-8.15pm. Chameleons Vox will be on stage 8.45pm

Ribble Valley Mod Weekender: The Grand Venue Clitheroe 26th September 2015

THE Ribble Valley Mod Weekender and scooter rally rolls into town on the last weekend of September.

Once again The Grand takes centre stage with a music extravaganza on Saturday, September 26th, featuring a four band bill and DJs in between live sets. Please bear in mind this event is always a sell-out so advance booking is essential. Note also the earlier start time.
