Sophia Marshall has released a video for her latest single ‘Hey Al, Woah!’
Speaking on the track Sophia has said, “I was relieved to write a song where the focus was not on me, as songwriters are so self-indulged at times – which I admit to being guilty of. But I wanted to speak out, for possibly more than just myself.” The track focuses on Marshall’s experience with a man that made her realise she couldn’t tolerate his attitude anymore.
The track is the second single taken from her debut solo album ‘BYE BYE’ which will be released in October 2017.
The info
Sophia burst onto the UK Americana scene as one-half of highly acclaimed band The HaveNots, having played hundreds of gigs across three continents from the tiniest dives to the grandest theatres, she’s also delighted audiences at prestigious festivals like Summer Sundae in the UK and South by South West (SXSW) in the USA with her spellbinding voice and songs. Highlights include performing Emmylou’s parts at a Gram Parson’s tribute alongside Evan Dando, (and earning the praise of Gram’s daughter Polly) and touring the land sharing stages with the Be Good Tanya’s, The Sadies and Tift Merrit. More recently, Sophia joined Frazey Ford on her UK tour, as both the opening act and providing backing vocals for Frazey.
