Scotland’s independent record label, Boudicca Records, who champion women in music, are bringing an exciting line-up to Leed’s Wharf Chambers on March 5th 2020.
The night will be headlined by Boudicca’s own act, 6-piece Prog/Rock band, Ebb who released their debut EP ‘Death & The Maiden’ in December 2019. The band are fronted by award-winning singer/songwriter, Erin Bennett from Texas.
Since the release of their debut record, Ebb have been lauded by UK music press with Prog Magazine, Powerplay Magazine, Planet Rock and many online media outlets acknowledging the band’s ‘fresh and modern approach to a progressive form of music.’ (Fabrications HQ)
Second on the bill are London’s illusive, 24-year old singer/songwriter Wyse and her backing band. Wyse’s vocal style has been likened to Bjork and she cites Radiohead and Portishead among her influences. Having been featured on BBC Radio’s Introducing as well as opening for the likes of Echobelly and Rosie Lowe, 2020 is set to be a promising year for Wyse.
Opening the show is Leeds’ own in-your-face Rock trio, Kath & The Kicks. Online rock
mag, Louder Than War compare the band to, ‘Filthy garage rock meets Jack White.’
