LIVE REVIEW: An Evening in Vienna, Todmorden Town Hall, 20th January 2018

Todmorden Orchestra gave us an evening of Viennese music, mostly by the most prolific of the Strauss family, Johann Strauss II. There were also his brother Eduard’s lively railway-themed polka “Bahn Frei”, the Toy Symphony, attributed to Leopold Mozart, featuring toy musical instruments, and Franz Lehar’s elegant Gold and Silver Waltz. The audience got to sing along in the Egyptian March, and the programme finished with the well known Blue Danube waltz and the clapalong Radetzky March. A programme to liven up a winter’s evening.
