WellChild has been chosen for the second time as Charity Partner for Brass Factor 2018 and will receive proceeds from the Holmfirth Youth afternoon performances on Saturday 27th October 2018. Royal British Legion is to benefit from proceeds at the Brass Factor Holmfirth event in the evening.

Brass Factor is a celebration of one of Britain’s most traditional and best loved forms of entertainment and was first launched in 2010 by Alex Bray as a fusion of the popular TV talent show format and the tradition of brass bands. His aim is to invest in the future of brass banding with an entertaining evening showcasing the diverse output of brass band music.

Founder, Alex Bray said: “We are proud to be supporting WellChild and the Royal British Legion during Brass Factor at the Picturedrome Holmfirth when we shall be donating all funds from our raffle on the evening. Both our Youth Band members and our seniors are amongst their peers and we’ve chosen both charities because of the fantastic work they do with people in all age groups and how they improve the lives of whom they support.”

Brass Factor Bands compete in the talent show style competition in front of a panel of judges. Each band plays a 20-minute set, pitching the traditional brass band music in a new light. Once all the bands have played, the audience and judges then vote for the band with the Brass Factor.
