FUNDRAISING CONCERT NEWS: A Night To Remember At The Civic Barnsley

Thursday 29 September at 7.15pm for one night only, some of the finest performers from Barnsley and beyond will come together for a special fundraising event: 'A Night to Remember'. Hosted by Certainty of Chance Theatre and supported by Santander, it promises to be a fantastic evening of music, theatre and comedy, all in aid of Barnsley Hospice

Sue Miller, Barnsley Hospice Fundraising Manager said: “We are thrilled at the support for Barnsley Hospice. Every penny raised will make a real difference to hundreds of families who are affected by active and progressive life limiting illnesses in our community. The line-up for the evening sounds fantastic and promises to be a fun filled event that people won’t forget. There are some fantastic auction lots up for grabs, so sit back, enjoy the show and help raise lots of money.”

The night will feature:

ric-nealeRic Neale – The effortlessly cool, supremely-talented musical genius that is Ric Neale. Performing as a solo artist or with his band The Housekeeping Society, Ric is a fantastic singer/songwriter who has performed across the UK and is currently touring ‘Ric Neale does Pet Sounds’

simon-hannahSimon Hannah – The amazingly amusing magical Simon Hannah Children’s Magical Entertainer. One of the UK’s leading family entertainers and comedy magicians, Simon has been delighting audiences for over 25 years with his unique brand of close-up magic.

bar-stewardsThe Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican – Barnsley’s favourite colourful knitwear-wearing, comedy folk band, described by Jarvis Cocker as “The best thing to come out of Barnsley since the A61 to Sheffield”

Martha Hayward – The wonderful and angelic-voiced soprano Martha Hayward. one of Barnsley and South Yorkshire’s finest vocal talents, Martha regularly performs with Bradford Cathedral Consort, and the innovative vocal ensemble, Albion. She has collaborated live on BBC Radio One with Clean Bandit and the BBC Philharmonic and sang solo for HRH Prince Charles in Holyrood Palace with the Edinburgh Festival Chorus.

Paper Whale Theatre – The fabulous physical theatre company Paper Whale Theatre. Hailing from Yorkshire and Bologna, Saskia and Domenico from Paper Whale will be performing extracts from their incredible physical comedy ‘Stupid Zoo’

There will also be an auction with a host of prizes money can’t buy, there’s something for everyone.
